Admissions

St. Ethelbert’s is a Catholic Primary School and Nursery on the Wexham Road with year groups from Reception to Year 6. Within each year group, there are two classes made up of 30 pupils. We also have a nursery setting located on site in which we offer a morning or afternoon session to children who are 3 years old. From September 2025, we will offering 30 hour funded places to those parents who are eligible. 

If you wish to apply for a school place for your child, please see the process of admissions for Nursery, Reception and In Year admissions below. When applying for any school place, we require the following supporting documents alongside your child's application. 

- Birth Certificate 

- Baptism Certificate 

- Letter with parents name and address

There are no paper applications available from the school office. You must complete the forms online and send them to post@stethelberts.slough.sch.uk marked FAO admissions.

 

Nursery admissions:

You will only need to complete the initial application form below and submit your documents alongside this. We will then contact you to inform you if we have a place available of if your child is placed on a waiting list.

Initial Application for Nursery

From September 2025, we will be increasing our hours and offering both 15 hour placements and 30 hour placements. Please complete the application stating your preference and email this over to post@stethelberts.slough.sch.uk. 

For 15 hour placements, this will cover the free funding all parents are entitled to. 

For the 30 hours placements, parents will be asked to provide your 30 hour eligibility code before we confirm if you are able to receive the 30 hours with us. If parents are not eligible for the 30 hour funding but still wish for more than 15 hours a week, there will be a charge of £6.51 per hour. Placements for this arrangement is subject to agreement with the school office. Please contact the school office on 01753522048 if you have any further questions. 

Costing information:

15 hours a week: 

Morning session- 8:45am to 11:45am (Monday to Friday only)

Afternoon session- 12:45pm to 3:45pm (Monday to Friday only)

Free to all parents who have a child who is 3 years old. 

Children entitled to this funding can only chose a morning or afternoon session. We cannot split this funding to full hours in a shorter number of days. 

 

30 hours a week: Eligible 

8:45am to 2:45pm (Monday to Friday)

**2:45pm-3:45pm will be available at the extra cost of £6.51 per day. 

Parents must provide eligibility codes in advance to check with Slough Borough Council.

 

 

 30 hours a week: Not eligible 

 

If your child is not entitled to 30 hours funding but you are happy to pay the extra cost of £6.51 per hour for your child, this is subject to agreement with the school. 

 

 

Reception admissions:

For all reception applications, you must register your child with Slough Borough Council in the first instance. Along with this, you will need to complete the initial application form below and submit your documents alongside this to post@stethelberts.slough.sch.uk 

 Initial Application for Reception-Year 6

In Year admissions:

For applications for children who are in years 1-6, you must complete the application below and submit your documents. You will then be contacted by a member of the school office to confirm if your child has secured a place or if they have been placed on the waiting list and what number they are. We aim to let parents know this within 5 working days of submitting the application.
